Interestingly in todays charlotte observer there are two articles re the schools and taxes, Meck County voted down borrowing money -

in Union they noted that taxes may go up to 81.42 (already 81.89 in Meck County) by 2011 but also note that if builders want to develop right away and there isn't enough space in the schools for the incoming students, builders would have to pay as much as $21,000 in land or money for each home to go towards the schools....I imagine if builders get charged this fee, they will recover it from those buying new homes.

I noticed myself from listings I get from a realtor, not a lot of new stuff coming out in Union but a lot in the meck area and price decreases too.
