I'm SHOCKED! We went to get our license plates and where told that we needed to get our NC driver's license first. Wow! Just goes to show you, rules change every minute. Or maybe it depends on what "mood" they're in on any given day.

That's what I was afraid of too. I called a friend of mine before I went and asked her if she got herNC license and she said no and she got her NC plates. She lives in the Steele Creek area. My husband also said he was talking to someone down in Union County from NY and he said the same thing. He didn't get his NC license either and they gave him the plates. You know the person at the DMV didn't even mention anything about me getting my NC license. She only said 10 days for inspection. I went to Mooresville.

Inspections are serious business in NC.. If you don't do the inspection in a timely fashion, they state will keep track of it and hold you accountable for fees.

As for the DMV most of them are crowded so make suer you have all your Id's and are ready for the written test befor you get license.

Yeah I plan on getting the inspection today or tomorrow. I walked into the Drivers license place today to ask directions to the Plates place and I only saw about 5 people waiting, not bad. In AZ it's an all day affair.
