Sharon was a place, not a person.

Sharon comes from the Bible - remember, Charlotte was settled by Presbyterians for the most part. Sharon was a very lovely, fertile plain where incredibly beautiful flowers bloomed in Palastine. Jesus was referred to in the Bible as The Rose of Sharon.

The road names came from Sharon Presbyterian Church, established in 1831, and community around it.

Sharon-Amity Road, for example, ran between Sharon and Amity Presbyterian Churches.

are there any plans to have more numbered streets and also are there any plans for blvd's and ave's? just curious...

charlotte is very difficulat to navigate because of the lack of numbered streets, IMHO.

the first time i had to drive to my gf's house i got lost for an hour and a half.

turn on sharon on the corner of sharon and sharon, then head to sharon near sharon. sharon will be on the other side but don't go too far because you'll be near sharon.

Yep. That's the way it is around here. Don't expect any changes. Welcome to Charlotte.
