We are closing on our home next week. We called our moving company and told them that we would like our furniture (which has been in storage fora few months) delivered on the 18th. They said they could not guarantee a delivery date of the 18th but said sometime between May 18 and May 25. I was never informed of this, i was just told to give them 2 weeks notice. I am a little upset .... should I be, is this unusual that you request a date and the movers say between xxx and xxx?

Is this usual??? We are moving from NY to NC.......

Yes it is...we are using movers also and they are scheduled to arrive between the 28th and the 30th of May...but they call me 5 days in advance to give me which date they are going to be here...delivery at our new house is the same they gave me a window of the 5th of June to the 9th of June..

Usually this is very normal...we are also using a moving company out of Pittsburgh PA that specialzes in relo's....they dont sub contract out its all done in house which I like as they are accountable for our stuff more than the sub-contractors so the movers and staff are on the payroll of the moving company and well they came very highly recommended and so far very reasonable price and great communication...
