Hi- I am flying down for this week end to check out some properties- but I am thinking about getting a "permanent" souvenir..
Anybody have recommendations for a nice, clean place to go, in a safe area? You know us tourists.... don't want to get into the wrong side of town.....
Thanks for any replies!

Sadu in Plaza Midwood has a good reputation for piercings, and it has been excellent in my experience. I think they only do piercings...can't help you with tattoos. Enjoy your visit!

For tattoos, I say Fu's Custom Tattoo or Immortal Images. I've only ever been to Fu's, and I love it. I've heard nothing but good things about Immortal, too.

Fu's is in the heart of NoDa, so you can grab a bite at Revolution Pizza or Cabo Fish Taco before and then a pint at Solstice, Revolution or Evening Muse afterward!

I agree with Hooligan but I'd add Immortal Images on Monroe Rd.

I'm sure you have already been in Charlotte and left by now, but for other people want the same thing: most good shops have a long waiting list, but you can call in and ask if there is any availability in their shop for walk-in. I'll go to Krazy Kats Tattoo soon for a piercing, but their tattoo portfolios are also pretty good. I head good recommendations from them too.
