I'm having a very difficult time locating a bakery that will do a specialty order. Any suggestions on who to call? I am in Monroe but will go to Charlotte, Indian Trail, Weddington, whatever. Cakes are needed for May 27.
Thanks! SL |

There's a place called Jersey Girls. I don't know anything about them, but google them.
Sometimes the big box stores have good bakeries. |

With a name like saralee, I'd think you'd be a whiz at baking. Edible Art in Charlotte does amazing work. I don't know exactly what you are looking for, but here is their website: http://edible-art-charlotte.com/ If you send them pics of what you have in mind, they can duplicate it for you! |

Ok, my birthday is friday and I'm resisting the urge to buy myself a fancy cake. Now that you've said they are tasty, cake is my weakness.

I confirm that Edible Art is phenomenal. Keep away from the Jersey Girl bakeries--they are horrendous! You can read previous threads here on Jersey Girl....everyone on the board concurs that they absolutely stink!

Tiz Faison does the most beautiful and delicious cakes (along with Edible ARt) in town. Tizzsert's cakes are sold at Reid's downtown or you can have her do custom. I have had her do many custom birthday cakes for golfers, spring theme, etc.
http://www.tizzerts.com/special_main.htm If you are in a rush, Reids usually has several of her cakes that they can pipe a name or message on. Try the BOston Creme Cake-two layers of yellow cake with custard in the center covered in chocolate ganache. I love Edible Art as well, they do a denser pound cake & I like Tizzert's softer more moist cakes better. |
