Who makes the best pancakes in Charlotte?
If there is one thing that I can and will eat all the time its pancakes! When and if me and the missus move to the Charlotte area I must find a good NONCHAIN place to get pancakes. IHOP and the Waffle House just won't do.

Original Pancake House would the place to go. There is one in midtown and another in SouthPark. I really like their pancakes. They are a bit different though, not sure what it is about them but they are gooood.

OPH is the best that I have found in town. They have great pancakes and a wide variety.
Eddie's Place is also good for breakfast. I never tried their pancakes but their other food is good.

OPH, I love their 49'ers pancakes. They are thin, chewy and soooo good. I am not a fan of fluffy stacks of pancakes. But hubby loves the fluffy ones there too. Kid loves the eggs benedict.

Those are frozen cakes in which they pop in the microwave. He's looking for freshly made.

I would have to second the Original Pancake House - I used to work thre many years ago - They have a wide selection of Pancakes and different styles - Look them up on the web and check out their menu. DELicIOUS!!! Yummy!

There's a great little place in my neighborhood but it's invitation only. Ok, it's actually my kitchen. The menu varies week to week but you can get everything from plain pancakes, buttermilk, applesauce, banana, cinnamon, whole wheat, and at this time of year pumpkin pancakes will be making an appearance. Also highly recommended are the waffles and french toast, grits, breakfast casseroles & burritos, homemade oatmeal bars and the once a year Bacon Roll.
I enjoy going out for breakfast too but if you love breakfast and pancakes that much I recommend learning a few simple recipes that you can customize to your liking. That being said, I don't have any restaurant recommendations because I rarely eat pancakes when we go out for breakfast. I want to order things out that I don't usually have at home. I'd feel comfortable taking the advice here and would try OPH.
thestem---you aren't alone, my DS also loves the McD's pancakes. I don't ask him if he prefers mine to theirs though. Some things I might not want to know, lol.
