I think that is the name is FANTASTIC. I have been moping about with fish taco cravings (I am 6 months pregnant) and nothing seemed to satisfy. Dreams of CA tacos were beginning to hold me hostage in my already irrational state of mind. Thanks to citydata I heard of the fish tacos over in NODA. We went there today and I have to say that I liked them better then the ones I was pining for back in CA.

A big hug and kisses to those who brightened this pregnant chicks day

I was missing fish tacos from my CA days too until I found CFT. I still like Wahoo's better but that may be nostalgia.

Me too...fish tacos from a hole in the wall little Mexican restaurant in Baldwin Park where we lined up to get fish tacos plus the colored jello juice in big jars you scoop up with a big ladle. Unfortunately, I have not found a substitute yet in Charlotte, and NoDa is just too far of a trek for a non-preggers woman!

Cantina 1511 has good fish tacos too, IMO. They have two locations, one on East Blvd. and one in Ballentyne.

Default Not impressed

My office got fish tacos from Cabo today and we were not impressed. I got the tuna tacos and the other 3 got the cod. They were OK and all, just not great. We have never had fish tacos in Charlotte or California; so maybe we don't have a taste for them. The tortillas were really good and the fish was tasty. The rest of the ingredients were kind of bland and the quantity was lacking. Over all they were just missing something. The portions were kind of small for me. The big platters look pretty good and I am willing to try them next time.

I made some shrimp tacos twice from the "Just Cook This" show from FitTV and Discovery Health. They VERY good. Try them out. The Chipolte Sour Cream is awesome just by itself, as a condiment on burgers, or as a dip.

Discovery Health :: Sam Zien

Can anyone else recommend another great whole-in-the-wall restaurant that serves fish tacos or other Mexican? The less English spoken by the employees the better.

The atmosphere is better than the food at that fish taco place. I think Kellys and Fat City had better grub, but unfortunately they are gone now.
