Being that Atlanta is over twice as large as Charlotte, I would think that there are more educational opportunities. You also have a higher graduate rate, but you know what? We kick Atlanta's ass when it comes to median incomes. I have provided a list of current rankings for the cities with the most college educated people:

1. Seattle
2. San Francisco
3. Raleigh
4. Washington, D.C.
5. Austin
6. Atlanta
7. Minneapolis
8. Boston
9. Lexington, Ky
10. San Diego
11. Portland, Or
12. Oakland
13. Charlotte
14. Denver
15. Honolulu
16. Colorado Springs
17. Pittsburg
18. St. Paul
19. Cincinatti
20. Virginia Beach.

Charlotte is number 12 for median income. Atlanta is way behind.

That median incomes list you refer to is probably based on the city proper, which will give a somewhat distorted result for cities like Charlotte and Raleigh that have loose annexation laws that allow them to gobble up more affluent areas. In certain other metros, those affluent areas would not be part of the central city, but would instead be a suburb or satellite city (and thus, excluded from this calculation). For example, Atlanta (which is bounded by confines of the county line of little Fulton County) and the District of Columbia (which is bounded by the VA and MD state lines) are mostly comprised of just the urban core of a huge metro area. The higher income areas of the DC metro region are places like Arlington, Virginia and Bethesda, Maryland, which are obviously not part of the city of Washington, DC (which cannot expand its city limits beyond the boundaries created over two centuries ago); whereas, the higher income areas of the Charlotte are places like Southpark, which ARE part of the city of Charlotte. Here's a list of top media household income by metro area:

Yes, that was exactly what we were talking about. You should go back and read. Additionally, your data is very old. Atlanta outgrew Boston many years ago. LOL!! Check the dates. Besides, who cares? Median income in Cornelius where I live is $107,000.

Uh, hello, I did read. And I just went back and read your post again. It has only two statements with respect to your claim about median incomes:

1) "We kick Atlanta's ass when it comes to median incomes."
2) "Charlotte is number 12 for median income. Atlanta is way behind."

How is one supposed to deduce from those two statements that the average median incomes YOU were talking about were based on city proper data, rather than metro area? I don't see one mention of "city proper" in those statements. And as far as the data being "very old," do you have an updated median income ranking you would like to post, or are you just trying to be argumentative? Oh, and the median household income in Arlington, VA is over $130K. So what's your point?

Uh, Hello! back at you. I specifically said "City". Go back and check and then see an optician. It says "City". Get a translator. Have you already started happy hour.

The data I provided on cornelius is current as of the beginning of 'this' year.

And I care about Arlington why? Gee, would that be where those thieving senators live? The difference is that people in Cornelius earn money, those in Arlington generally don't (except for the non-governmental types).

Wow, you're a real trip! Yes, you said "city" when you were talking about educational opportunities, but when you were talking about median income (which is the issue at hand here), you made no mention of "city." For the second time, here are the two statements you made with respect to median income:

1) "We kick Atlanta's ass when it comes to median incomes."
2) "Charlotte is number 12 for median income. Atlanta is way behind."

Hmm, I don't see the word "city" there. And why the hell are you so bent out of shape about this? All I was doing was explaining how, looking at the big picture -- metro areas -- Atlanta has a higher median income. Why so sensitive? LOL!

Is this what you do when you get yourself caught in a trap and can't answer for yourself, you change the subject? The data you were referring to that you said was very old was the data I had posted showing metro areas ranked according to median income. What the hell does Cornelius have to do with that? Stick to the subject. Again, I repeat, do you have an updated median income ranking you would like to post, or are you just trying to be argumentative?

And I care about Cornelius why? Cornelius is as irrelevant to me as Arlington is to you, which is why I posted about Arlington in response to your comment about Cornelius, and then asked "so what's your point?" Get it now? Whew!

You obviously don't know much about Arlington. That statement would be like me referring to Cornelius as the place where thieving bankers live.

There is a Atlanta forum but since this is a open forum I thought I might put my 2 cents in.

These Charlotte Forumers get swallowed everytime you give them a lil spotlight. The city grows a lil and now the people think charlotte is so ready to compete with the much much bigger citys.
