Default Any Part-Time Work in the Charlotte area?

My husband and I are considering moving to the Charlotte/Ft. Mill area from NJ. We want to semi-retire but will need p/t jobs. He is willing to work in Home Depot, I'm a certified NJ teacher - what are the prospects like?

Worse than NJ (even for part-time work)

You have a much higher unemployment rate here w/less jobs. Many people who are college educated (and many w/master degrees) can't even find part time work....

I'm not saying 100% you won't be able to find something, however its very difficult.

Head to Charleston. They just announced a new Boeing Airliner factory there that is going to employ 1000s. My guess is there will be lots of work there. Charlotte just focuses on proping up banking jobs.
