It is not conservative, which, by default, makes it liberal.

Just as all TV networks that are that are not Fox news are liberal.

I would recommend that you read some foriegn papers and view the foriegn press if you want to see "liberal". The corporate media in the USA is as conservative as they come. I do give them credit however in keeping Americans fooled that there are actual differences between them.

It wasn't always this way in the USA, but after Vietnam, there was a huge effort to consolidate media which has concentrated it in just a few hands. You don't have to believe me. Go down to the library and read a few newspapers from the 1960s and you will immediately see the difference.

It's a bloody boring newspaper that's what it is and in my humble opinion a conservative one at that.

The long tradition of the CLT OBS has been to support Democrat candidates and policies. So if that makes it liberal, then liberal it is. However, I don't think it is best described by either term - liberal or conservative.

And I totally see why Lumbollo and SMClarke would say it isn't liberal - cause they are right - it isn't liberal when compared to other newspapers outside the USA.

But for America, it leans to support on causes that are traditionally seen as being backed by the Democratic Party rather than the Republican Party.

Heh. It's as conservative as Ronald Reagan. Go read the english version of pravda.ru or lemonde if you want to see what would be referred to as a leftist paper here. If you want some good laughs read what Pravda has to say about Condelissa Rice.

Our lives are better because we don't take it anymore. It is hanging on the left side as are most news organizations. When they go bankrupt, maybe they will learn.
