I have lived in Berewick for 3 years and have used West Blvd the entire time. It has only taken me more than 25 minutes to get to/from uptown twice. While the neighborhoods are not the greatest, I have never felt unsafe. Traffic usually moves 45-50 mph and the stop light at Billy Graham is the only one that I have ever had to wait for more than 1 cycle. My schedule is flexible so I drive any time between 7:30-9:00am and return between 5-7pm, and there is no difference during rush hour.

Berewick/Steele Creek to Uptown, Arysley to Uptown.... drive to a Lynx station on South Blvd, take the train and avoid traffic congestion and high priced parking.

I agree, especially about the parking, but on the other hand it would probably take longer to get to the South Blvd. station + ride uptown. I have heard that it is worth the extra time for the amount of stress relief, but it would depend on what is more important to you.
