GIS Day is an annual event that showcases how Geographic Information Systems affect people every day. Mecklenburg County has had an event each year for over 10 years.

This year it's at Spirit Square in uptown Charlotte from 9:00 to 5:00.

There'll be displays and presentations by city and county departments, National Geographic, the NC Geodetic Survey, the US Census Bureau, UNC Charlotte, CPCC, ESRI (the Microsoft of GIS), and more.

For more information, see ArcGIS ModelBuilder Workshop (http://www.charmeck.org/Departments/Geospatial+Information+Services/GIS+DAY/Home.htm - broken link)

If you're Uptown that day, be sure to drop by. Hope to see you there!

GIS Day 2011 Expo
Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

Contact Mecklenburg County Geospatial Information Services at 704-336-4442 or go to Geospatial Information Services.

Or talk to the GIS program staff at CPCC. They likely will have a booth.
