I wouldn't want is so small that I have to drive 20 miles to go to a Home Depor or Lowes. It would have to be large enough to have most conveniences within a reasonable distance.

Yes, Monroe is more rural than Matthews. I'd love Monroe if I didn't work near the Metroliner. It's further out than Matthews.
Thanks Ragdoll,
I am very excited about the move. We have been visiting the Carolinas for many years trying to figure out North or South Carolina, but our son and his wife and our new grandbaby just moved to Charlotte so that ended the debate as to where we would be living. I have heard so many wonderful things about the area and I'm thrilled to be moving there. No more New England winters. Yay!!

You may want to consider Indian Land SC. It is just south of the border. Not far from Pineville, Blakeney and Ballantyne. Taxes are lower.

Hello Patti, south Matthews would be a great spot for the range you are looking in and the distance to local hospitals. I've lived in Matthews for 3 years now and love the convinience to everything. If you need help finding the right area or want to find out more info on the best areas, feel free to personal message me anytime, I'd love to help! Charlotte is a great place to be!
