New Roof - How much/what company?
We want to replace the roof of a house we recently bought in Belmont (Gaston county). The house is approx 2000 sqf. How much would it cost to replace the roof (shingles)? Can you recommend a company? Thanks in advance.

It will depend on slope, number of hips/valleys and roofing material but I know a great local independent guy with great references who has done stellar work for me. Even threw in some copper flashing without upcharging me because he "just thought it would look better" (it does).
He is pricing to get jobs, which is always a bonus for the shopper. If you want his info just let me know via DM.

Ron Farley just did a friend's home and the pricing/quality of the work was great. He was very competitive and his pricing was well below the competition. His contact info is Ron Farley @ Budget Roofing 803-821-2427. If you need a reference, DM me and I will send you the contact info.

Please note that if if it already has a second layer of shingles both will have to be removed and a layer of felt paper put over the wood. If it has a roof made from planks often the planks can be loose or bowed from age and THEN a new roof will be required before they can apply the shingles. This is why the price can vary from approx 2000 bucks to over 5. Get several estimates and find out what the roof condition is BEFORE they start removing the old shingles. You dont want any surprise additional charges once they get started because then you are stuck with being forced to pay the additional cost. And beware that many roofing companies use "illegal aliens' . I would be sure that all of the workers are legit. Thats what I did when I had my roof replaced. Told the owner that if "I saw anyone on my property that didnt look like a typical citizen or spoke spanish I would not pay him until he could show me the documents and IDs of all the workers". The roofing service companys around here ARE FLOODED with illegals.....just my advice on being sure you get a good fair roofing job....Hope my advice will aid you in finding a good company...

The fact that this type of work is FLOODED with illegal workers isnt my fault. Im just saying that because it is I would think extra precautions would be in order to insure that when you hire a roofing company that you arent indirectly putting money into the illegal subversive culture that is leeching on our economy. But dont make this an anti illegal subject, The man wanted to know how to hire a reputable company and this has to be considered..thanks,,,,,say sumthin now.lol
