It takes a strong, special person to endure and succeed in life as a military spouse.
So very true.

Excellent Sticky Ani - My deepest thanks and appreciation to all of our veterans and their families for keeping America a safer place.

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the VETERAN, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the VETERAN, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the VETERAN, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the VETERAN,
who salutes the Flag,

It is the veteran,
who serves under the Flag,

With great respect to those who have served and those currently serving, thank you.

When I was 7 my mother and grandmother and I all got POW braclets for the POW's in Vietnam. My teacher noticed my braclet and had me explain to the class what it meant. Ironically, he was her ministers son. He returned home only to be killed in an airplane accident 2 years later. Here is the story of a man whose name I will never forget, Darrell E. Pyle.
Bio, Pyle, Darrell E.

nascarnancy - thank you for sharing your touching story, I remember all too well the POW/MIA bracelets. Also, I wasn't aware of the Viet Nam Wall site, I was able to locate at least 6 soldiers from my hometown in NJ, who graduated a few years ahead of me. My brother served in Viet Nam with these soldiers that didn't make it back, I'll be sure to forward onto my brother.

Thanks again!!!
