need to ship a couple ebay items (shoes) to the UK and was wondering does anyone have experience doing international shipping. Since the post office is closed today, I figured I'd ask here....

Just seeing who is the cheapest

I use to ship international on Ebay and plan on a hefty shipping cost.

USPS has the cheapest Intl shipping of any of them...by far. I've been an Ebay seller for years.

I used this international shipping company while studying abroad called Shipito. They were quite reasonable; my parcels were mostly books, electronics, handbags and shoes. You might wanna look on their website for a shipping calculator.

He's shipping Ebay packages and to be covered under Paypal/Ebay Seller Protection you have to use a covered provider. Those little companies don't qualify and you are just asking to get scammed if you use them, because Paypal will not accept proof of delivery from them.

As noted above, I would probably go with USPS/Royal Mail combo. They will be much cheaper than UPS and Fedex. I don't know about the rest of you, but UPS acts like they don't need customers these days. I tend to avoid them as much as I can.

sophialee is right about the USPS having the cheapest international shipping rates. But I read that the UK Post Office (Royal Mail)went on strike the other day. I don't know if this strike has been resolved. You may want to enquire about it, if you ship with USPS (they will know - they would have to hold the package until the UK strike is settled).

I mail to Ireland and UK about once a month and always use USPS. They are the cheapest and sometimes they are delivered there within a few days. I always ask for cheapest airmail and make sure you have your customs declaration on your parcel.
