I see the numbers keep growing each day, so that's a good sign. Charlotte has over 5,000 votes now.

Can you see where the other cities stand? I wonder how close Charlotte is to other cities. I hope the leaders in Charlotte are aware of this and start supporting this as well.

You can see where every city "stands" if you go to the Homepage >The Bid > Bidding Cities - but honestly I think you'd be wasting your time if you thought a (manipulatable) online vote would cause one city to get nominated above another city.

Just wait until next month when FIFA make their announcement for host countries and then we'll know if it's even an option.

FIFA politics is just as bad as any other and votes are being bought and sold in smokey backrooms all across the world....lots of "If you vote for us in 2018, we'll vote for you in 2022"

The online petition aside, I think there are other reasons why Charlotte probably won't make it. Most importantly, this isn't a soccer city. We're in basketball country, and football is also very popular. Soccer, not so much. There's been little to no buzz about this venture here at all. Other cities are having olympic style watch parties tomorrow for the annoucement. And places like Nashville ran online sections on their bid in their paper's website. Here you wouldn't even know we're in the hunt.

Oh well. Still would like to see Mexico play so hopefully we can get tickets. We are actually going to see Celtic play Hibs in April in Edinburgh.
