Default Occupants rights

Ok, so I already posted a question about an occupants rights in nc, I am an occupant, and I intend on moving out, could I get in any trouble for breaking the lease? I am not a leaseholder, but I am listed as an "occupant" on the lease...

I know a lease holder breaking a lease is responsible for the remainder of the rent for the term of the lease. I don't know if this would apply for an occupant. The best thing to do would be to actually break out the lease and attempt to interpret all that fine print.

The only person that would have to "sign" themselves off of a lease would be a leaseholder. The occupant can move out at any given time. You would not be breaking the lease because you are not a leaseholder. You have no rights to the apartment.
