Has any one been for this festival ? is it worth the 20$ entrance fee ? we were planning to go there this saturday afternoon. i think this is the last weekend for it . any comments from ppl who have already been there will be great
I have not been to it, but I can tell you the traffic it causes is horrendous so you should plan for it. I tried to use Hwy 73 a couple of Saturday's ago to go to Concord from Huntersville, and after a while, I gave up and went back home.
It is alot of fun and if you have never been you will enjoy it. I have been 4- 5 times and will likely not go back as it is pretty much the same every year. Good food, lots of stuff for the kids (and adults). I loved the jousting and storytelling skits! It is very expensive - not just to get in (tickets are $18 at Harris Teeter) - but everything costs extra!
if i went on saturday afternoon around 2 would that be enuf. the place closes up at 5:30. also how much would i be spending if i had lunch there and some games.
what are all the activities that are present. this is my first time and any information given by those been there before will be good.
i am expecting that 75$ including the tickets for 2 ppl should be good. is tat resonable ? asking since 'Charlotteborn' mentioned that everything is expensive
Tickets are $18 at HT - that would leave you with $35+ which would be enough for two people to eat and play a few games, etc. I would try to go a little earlier than 2:00 so you can take your time. Check the schedule when you get there - try to see the jousting and check out some of the skits!
We went about a month ago. It was fun...but then again, we drank a good bit while we were there as well, so that may have helped.
That said, its a good time and something to do outside for a day if it's nice out. As far as $ goes after you get in, yes they have a lot of vendors there, and food, soda and beer are not free.
If you are bringing children, do pay attention the "ratings" for the various stage shows...some really are not for the youngsters.
Food is roughly $6-8 for lunch items....
Water is $2. Drinks are $3-4.
I didn't play any games, but the skits, plays and jousting are all FREE. Not Everything is additional. Just games are....
There are lots of shops. I tried to get there at 2 last weekend and traffic got me there at 3. so leave extra early. 3-5:30 wasn't really enough time. Some skits last 30 minutes or more...
