Hello everyone, I have just moved from DC and I'm looking for a home within 500k. Yday I went to see the toll brother model at Marvin creek, I was quite appalled by the price.
The lady at the sales office said that the model for 1.1 mill as it stands. Do you guys think anybody in thr right mind would buy it for that price?

I don't think anyone in their right mind would spend 500k in this market.

Plenty of resale to look at in Marvin Creek.

They're obviously thinking they can sell that type of home at that price...

I don't see any of the homes on their "Quick Delivery" or whatever page that are over a $1M. The most expensive one is ~$947K and it's nearly 5700 sq ft! How big of a home are you looking for?

If your budget is $500K, why are you looking in a neighborhood that has only 1 floorplan at $500K and that price is "limited time only"?

Why don't you look in Bridgehampton or maybe even Ballantyne Country Club? There may be resale houses there for a similar price. These are also considered desirable neighborhoods with great amenities. All are within close driving distance of each other in S. Charlotte.

There is nothing in Bridgehampton (NC side) or Ballantyne CC for around $500k. The min. is usually $550/$600k for Bridgehampton and over $600k for BCC. There has been one here or there that is a short sale etc that is less but it's rare.

CarolinaHome.com

You can find lots of places to live *near* uptown for $500K or under. What type of home, how big and in what neighborhood are vital questions that you haven't answered for us, however.

How about Bridle Path Estates? That's just around the corner. Also in Union County, same schools as Marvin Creek....
