I have to deliver a project today. I'm putting it off as long as possible.

It's obvious that no one on here was at Toys"R"Us at around 1am. Absoluletly borderline chaos. No room to move anywhere. Stayed in line 3 1/2 hours just to check out. I will never do that again. I am sure someone else will say something soon about that mess. Should be on the news today. People pushing, yelling.... Unreal

"I actually did go out after all. I'd pretty much decided against it, but it's time for a new washer and dryer at my house and there were some good deals at Best Buy, Home Depot, and HH Gregg.

"I got to Best Buy (Northlake) about 20 minutes before they opened. The line was long, but it was nothing like I experienced in my previous hometown.

I got a good price on a Washer/Dryer Combo, so I'm happy about that. I saved a few hundred bucks. Of course, the advertisement would lead one to believe the savings was over $1000. Those savings are based on MSRP which I NEVER pay for any major purchase, so I can't count that. I also managed to pick up a few stocking stuffers along the way.

I've been shocked at how relatively few people actually go out for Black Friday here. It's really not that "crazy" here. People were complaining about the crowds, but they have no idea what they are talking about. I've been in Black Friday sales before were one literally couldn't move in the store and the line to checkout was over 3 hours. My longest wait today in 4 stores was less than 5 minutes."

Here's a video of the mess at Toys "R" US. One lady goes on camera and says she had to wait 3 1/2 hours too. People tried cutting in line around 1am which caused a huge altercation and the police had to come out and make several arrests.

Went to Target, Game Stop, Walmart, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, K Mart, Office Depot, Dick's Sporting Goods, Kohl's, Ross, another Target, Hallmark Store, and the Dollar Store. I got everything I wanted & more. My eyes were bigger than my wallet, so yes, I did end up getting a few things for myself. I got almost all of my shopping done today though.

Wow! That's the Toys R Us I go to all the time, but I looked at the ads yesterday and nothing grabbed me to the point that I would wait in line that early. I like my sleep too much!

Went to Carolina Place this morning and bought a few things. It was not too crazy: busy but nothing ridiculous. We are heading to South Park Mall this afternoon for some other small items and possibly out tomorrow. Then other stuff will be done online.

This is a joke, right?

Because for kicks and a project I went out to Concord Mills last night and hung out until sometime around 1 am. Even the food court was close to packed and nearly every inch of walking space was taken up by someone. I can't tell you how many stores had to regulate the flow to get inside.

I took this picture around 12:30 in the morning and without exaggerating yes, it got worse than this. It was like this nearly ever section of the mall. Moving around freely became a fantasy and by a little after one there were plenty of car stalking people for parking spaces.

And plenty of people carrying bags as well

We did a different kind of shopping- for furniture! Went looking for living room sofa and got a great deal on solid wood high quality bedroom furniture from Tyndall! King bed, head/foot board, dresser, mirror, chest, 2 night stands for $1900! Add the mattress and tax (can't believe how fast 9% adds up!) and the total was $3000- not bad considering Roomstogo wanted that for very low quality and Broyhill wanted $4000 without mattress for similar quality!

I went out. Got to Target just before 4am. Wasn't too bad. Got a sweet GPS for my ds - the TomTom that was normally $249 - I paid $97 - as well as a new crockpot and griddle for me. Then to Gamestop to get the DSi bundles that my kids had saved enough of their allowances for. After that over to Kmart for the Hamilton Beach brew station for dh. Home by 7:15. I wasn't after much this year as I have already ordered the kids big gifts online. Only have a few things left to get including stocking stuffers.
