We may be relocating to the Charlotte area. I am zoning in on Mooresville or Concord, based on the High School ratings. What can we expect to pay for car insurance, home owners insurance, any other monthly bills like utilities, etc. All of my homework on the area shows it costs a lot less than the Northeast. Is this true? Any feedbank would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure I'll have more questions!
Thanks
When I lived in Charlotte I lived in a one bedroom apartment. My electric bill was no more then 70 dollars, and that was a winter bill. I did not pay home owners insurance there because I rented, however my car insurance was actually more then it was when I lived up north. I moved from northern NY to Charlotte being a city...so that is probably why. I paid 75 dollars a month on a SUV.
We came from Ft.Lauderdale, FL. I was paying $250/month (or somewhere around there) for a 2003 Expedition and 2006 Silverado. When we moved to NC, it was cut nearly in half. I am at $135 for both and they doubled my coverage.
As far as insurance for homes. Our house is insured for $600K and I paid $617/year for it through Nationwide Insurance. Our electric bill averages around $150 a month for a 4100sqft home with dual zones, although we only operate the lower zone because we arent really upstairs most of the time.
WE just got our NC car and home insurance since dh is living in NC now, we pay here in NJ 3650 a year for 2 new lesed vehicles, major coverage, 1 million dollar umbrella policy and home owners insurance...In NC our policy is 1695 a year for the exact coverage...so for us is 1/2 of what it is in NJ.. our homeowners is 513.00 a year for a 3200 sq ft house in Union County, and my car is 1162.00 a year, total of
