Obviously not the bank, but never thought it really would take this long, but I can understand why NC would be the last state to convert over....

I figured because since we have so much invested here (w/Wach) that it would take our area the longest....just a guess.....

For my family's situation, glad the signs will be "Wells Fargo" rather than "Citibank"

It will be a very sad day in Charlotte. Many employees will be faced internally with the whole brunt of the change on Jan 1, 2010.

Wachovia is really First Union Bank. It wasn't that long ago they changed the name and it didn't bother anyone around here. (I do agree the people at the original Winston-Salem based Wachovia including customers think it was a bad deal.)

It could be worse, I guess, they could be changing the name to Norwest, which is really the bank that took them over.

It hasn't even been a year so that's not really very long. Also, this is the corp headquarters. The are is local investment plus all the interal employee investment/morale shift that happens when a company is absorbed by another.

I too am glad that it will say Wells. It could have been Citi and I think that would have been a lot worse.
