Are there any indian casinos or anything of the like around the area?
If so, how far from Charlotte is it, and do you enjoy it?
(I like to play blackjack and poker)

Harrah's cherokee, however right now I think its a dry casino unfortunately. Also, for poker, they don't have "live" dealers for hold'em, they use the "poker-tek" dealers....much different experience...
Anyhoo, still would be a good time I believe....also, Myrtle Beach has there casino boats where gambling is legal..
hope this helps

I don't hate Poker-tek tables, you see more hands per hour this way, but I do miss having actual cards in my hand. Being the victim of many dealer errors in medium to large size pots though, I think they have distinct advantages over true live tables, in the sense of eliminating dealer error.

There are casinos in West Virginia. I think it's 4-4.5 hrs away. Google tri-state racetrack in West Virginia. I've never been but friends of mine have been. It's live unlike the computer/slots only in Cherokee.

At least that and only if there isn't winter weather on the part of I-77 in the mountains. This can be expected this time of the year until about late March.

Is that the casino in Wheeling? Ugh, did not go in, but the place looked like a dump a couple of years ago. And according to mapquest its more like 6.5-7 hrs away.....if its that far, I'd just goto other nicer casinos at that distance.

Harrah's Cherokee is not worth the gas money, IMO. Their buffet is lousy and yes, it is a dry casino. Also, their BJ is video only, no cards.
