I think I need to invest in some long underwear, although I'm not sure my jeans would fit over them (see losing weight under New Year resolutions ). When I went out at 11:30 my VW said 32 with a snowflake/ice. I may have to venture up to Bass Pro Shops, when I went 2 years ago they had the flannel lined jeans, oh those sound good right now.
I took labby out just before the sun went down and I put his coat on, he did good this time and only tried to grab at it when we got back in the house. Maybe he's getting over the initial embarassment.
my dogs ADORE this weather...they run their laps around the backyard and play like puppies. Of course, one is a Husky mix and the other a Lab mix.
Now, they don't stay out real long...30 minutes and they are barking to come in.
That low of 11 is being conservative. Some models say Charlotte could dip near zero next week, with portions of the Piedmont possibly going below zero. A real cold regime we are in.
Dang, that just gave me a shiver! Which weather service do you look at?

Oh, Woody loved the snow last year, loves the rain and loves to be wet, he's a true lab. I figured I had it might as well put it on. I bought it as a rain coat so he wouldn't get so wet when I take him out, he's too hard to dry off. DH was mortified when I brought the coat home and said he refused to put it on the dog, then on Christmas Day, I heard DH's voice yell down the hall, can you grab Woody's coat!
Next fall Im caring a can of spray paint I dare to see a fully black woolly worm
I read on the Observer online that the hardware stores are out of faucet insulators and window insulation. DH and I really need to put new caulking around the windows and doors.

Coldest I ever remember experiencing around here was January of 1985, when I lived in Greensboro. The high was around 12 degrees *during the day* and it was below zero at night. It killed all the shrubs along my parent's driveway.
