With children as part of the picture another good forum for your wife to get into is Charlotte Mommies. I did that prior to moving and was able to get an idea of all kinds of good kid related information(i.e. pediatrician recommnendations, daycare or preschool info, etc). You can get some of that info here too, but usually when something kid specific is asked most people direct them to that link. Good Luck!
One of the problems that I have with this forum is I don't know the proper way to say "well, that's your opinion", or "it's relative", or "let's talk about that vis a vi the circumstances of the person/situation".
Since the TOS are: these are opinions of the poster only and one should not attack the opinion (besides I would never attack you anyway Loves, LOL) how does one disagree or have a contrary opinion without getting an infraction or going completely OT? (as I just did).
Just do what I did PC, be sure to add "in my opinion" in your post
