When we were kids and they were calling for big snow (the kind that would actually close the schools) we would get all excited and NOT do our homework. We were living on the edge, yes we were. Woo Hoo!!
I told both of my kids that they can't be nearly as certain, everyone will be doing their homework here tonight.
I hate to be Debbie Downer, but it's not going to snow, and if it does flurry a bit later tonight it's not going to stick or accumulate. It's already 39 and it's supposed to be in the mid 40s today. It has to be colder than that for snow!
I wish it actually would snow, then there would be a positive side to all of the cold!
But it's been in the teens and twenties overnight!!
I don't think we are going to get much snow but it's not at all unusual here to have snow when the days are warmer but the nights are colder. Then we get into that lovely icy road cycle....thaws during the day and freezes on the roads overnight.

Look at the dewpoint which is 15 degrees, meaning when it starts to precipitate, the temp will quickly drop to or just below 32 degrees, plenty cold to stick and snow, BUT the moisture feed of this system will be light. Maybe a dusting to an inch.
If it does indeed stick, I hope we get at least 5".. The terrible thing is that it most likely won't be enough to have fun in with the kids, but yet still enough to keep the kids out of school...
ALL OR NOTHING BABY!!
I have to agree.. All or Nothing!! I can negotiate to accept atleast 3 inches
It's not too warm, the temperature will drop quickly. We need to be more concerned about it being too cold to snow tonight. Yes you heard me right. It always hovers around 30 when we get snow here. If it gets colder it starts affecting the moisture in the air and keeps the fronts away. Keep in mind I'm not talking about Chicago, I'm talking about this area. Totally different weather patterns.
I don't have alot of faith that we will get much. I hope we do but I bet it will mostly miss us. Yep I'm looking at the radar map on TWC, I bet most of the snow will be south of us where it is slightly warmer.
It's not too warm, the temperature will drop quickly. ....
It's 44 now which is about 10 degrees warmer than it has been so far this week. If it clouds up before the sun drops, then it will remain too warm for snow.
