Hi! I will be moving into my new home in June and we need Blinds! Any suggestions on what company to use? Who is good..who was bad..etc.
Thanks!

When we moved into our new build house we used Budget Blinds - they are a national company, but they have local stores and owners. We used the one at Lake Norman - they were by far the cheapest, great selection, easy to work with (especially since none of our windows were a standard size), and it was a good quality product. You can visit their website and find the store closest to your new home.

LOWES... For $39 they come out and measure your entire house and give the measurements to you if you want them, no charge.

Then you can usually get them on sale for cheap and I think we paid $12 for each set to be installed.

We used 5th Ave. Interior Creations with Bill and Marcia Davis. Excellent service, very straightforward. They won't try and upsell you on stuff you don't want / need. We used Budget Blinds on our last home in Huntersville. They were good as well. 5th Ave pricing is about the same, but their service was much better.

FYI I went to home depot.
16 Windows total of 19 blind, 12 of which I had to get cut to size.
Installing them myself, total cost including tax $632

It all depends on what your want. You can be very thrifty and go through Home Depot and get the cheaper stuff and put it up yourself. I went that route on my first house, too much trouble! Our second new home we had a company come out and do all the measuring and installation. We also got Double Cellular/Cordless blinds. This can get expensive for an entire house. Hundreds of dollars per window, depending on the size of the window. I have budgeted $5000 for blinds when we build our house in Charlotte.

We used them too. Wait until you try using that life time warranty. They are terrible in that dept!

Red face Blinds

If you can install blinds yourself, watch for sales. JC Penneys has some nice blinds and they usually have HUGE sales a couple of times a year. They don't all come with that plastic valance but we usually put window treatments over them, so that's not really important to me...

We used Blue Sky Blinds and were very happy with their prices and the service we received.
