Next time we are looking for a splurge I think we will check it out. Our usual top steak splurge place is The Peach Stand in Fort Mill. (Hwy 160 just East of I-77)
The fat tastes like butter!!!

I have in the past been to the peach stand, j & s deli, what's your beef & fresh market. I like Vic in what's your beef though he tends to be heavy handed when cutting ask for 3/4 inch you get over an inch and so forth last time I went I was disapointed with the steaks but as usual the sausages where really good.
Peach stand had the ground beef, steak no complaints there.
J & S had a couple of roast's really good.
Fresh market chicken and ground sirlion is really good, steaks can be hit or miss.

We've special-ordered some tenderloin and prime rib from What's Your Beef for the holidays - sooooo good! Probably some of the best beef we've had.

I would not go the the Meat House as they bad mouth every one. Whats your beef has the best meats and prices. Would not go any were else. And do not care what any one says its the best No hormones, No steroids & No antibiotcs.

Cindy, actually, we had a similar experience. I did not want to name names, but now that you've mentioned it: The Meat House told my husband that What's Your Beef Butcher would be closing (but What's Your Beef verified that that wasn't true). That seems to me like ... dirty business. Just my opinion. That was our first and last trip there.
We do love the meats at WYBB, particularly the chickens ... they're better than what we were getting from Whole Foods back in L.A. They're good people, too.

Yeah I went to WYBB and had him cut up some sirloin steaks in 4oz portions because I am on a diet. He was very nice and friendly. I also bought some hot italian sausage, but because of the diet, I had to freeze them. I really hope he doesn't close!!!
I bought the beef tips or sirloin tips from Meat House. I actually did not like it at all. I did not like the quality of the meat. Just my preference, but they do have the soft mozzarella balls in water cheap. I'll go back for that alone! They were half the price of HT.
