I realized I made a mistake. True Religion is going into the old Cache Luxe spot next to The Gap. Intermix has closed but I'm not sure what will replace it. Here is the article about new retailers coming to SouthPark:
Four stores coming to SouthPark - CharlotteObserver.com (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/business/story/1190733.html - broken link)
Also, Dandelion Market has opened and replaces Latorre's restaurant. It has a cool atmosphere and they get their food from local farmers.

And a new nightclub called Kazba has opened Uptown in the Epicentre:

This thread isn't necessarily about new jobs as much as it is about new businesses (restaurants, stores, bars, nightclubs, entertainment, etc). Since there has been a lot of bad news lately in terms of places going out of business, I thought it would be nice to have a thread about new businesses opening up here.

Air America is filing for bankruptcy.
Seems 'progressive' talk radio just can't come up with the advertisers to be profitable. Imagine that.
click for link
Seems fitting for this thread, re 'good news'...

A brand new wine bar with tapas opened in Kannapolis!!! Yaay!!! If you live in the area please give it a try! We've got the research campus, but for this town to really thrive we need locals to give some of the new businesses here a chance.

Also, supposedly there are plans to open a pub in downtown Kannapolis too, though I'm not sure of the timeline.

7 For All Mankind is opening a store in the Spring at SouthPark in what I am assuming will either be the former Intermix or Bob Ellis spot.
