On a scale of 1 to 10 it was a 6 - with potential. But that's just my opinion.

I think having two girls coming up to you and start conversating with you the minute you walk into the door sounds like it has plenty of potential! I may need to check this place out myself!

I love House Music and do miss HOM closing. I hate that clubs close too darn early here and your night must start too early. Nothing like a grand entrance at 1:30 am when the vibe is about to peak. There are definitely too many bars and not a lot of upscales lounges or reggae clubs for the grown folks. However, I still manage to make it out quite often and have fun. I make the best use of what Charlotte offers, it will never be NYC where we are just falling out of clubs at 5 or 6 in the morning, before heading to a 24 hour diner for breakfast.

Here's one of my best links for house music -- Dennis Ferrer is a killer. Beatport is the jam! You will become addicted. For those loving House, Techno, Trance and others - Enjoy!

the people that move here and try to immediately enter Charlotte's music/club scene are too funny sometimes...you want house music, techno music, dub step music, Caribbean music, "real hip hop" music, neo-soul....but earth to transplant...you are in CHARLOTTE!

certain venues have some worthwhile events of all the things you mentioned, but in reality, this is a Top 40/Rock N' Roll/Country Western town...that does concerts really well, but not really night clubs or bars with music. Charlotte is also one of those towns that you can have a great time in if you party in moderation. But if you are the type that goes to night clubs a couple nights a week, then Charlotte might not be the place for you...Philadelphia, DC, ATL, Miami or Tampa may be more your speed because there are more clubs with people who have slightly more ecclectic tastes

additionally, clubs and club patrons have changed so much over the years due to the increase in personal music technology...prior to mp3's and iPods, sure you could buy new CD's, but if you wanted speciality music, or "really new" music that hadn't hit a proper CD release yet, you had to go to a club to check it out...clubs just weren't about just about macking the opposite sex, they were fertile grounds for people to hear and appreciate new music

now, all you have to do is go on a blog or go on iTunes or download whatever you want, put in on your iPod, make your "party playlist" and boom, instant party...now people go to clubs and get vex that they don't hear their favorite songs, or the DJ is wack, or "it's my girl's birthday let me pester the entertainment to please play Lady GaGa again"...I don't think it's about the quality of people there...and if you are going to a club to find a mate: male or female..SMH that's probably not the best place to look

Something different from the average bar/club is Howl at the Moon.It is located in the Epicenter but has a different feel than alot of the other places. The live piano show is great and they the last few times I have been I noticed that they have expanded their songs and show to target the younger 20-30's crowd! Check it out!

I would assume that hip hop and R&B would do okay here as well, consideing the relatively large African American population in Charlotte. BTW, is anyone going to check out the CIAA festivities this week? I will try to make it down sometime this week.

Go to a library, find a nice girl, get married, have some babies and stay at home! Nothing good happens after dark in this town
