Good point. Let's examine the message conveyed by members of each group for comparison purposes:
Lil Boosie (saggy pants) song lyrics:
Ol lady's baby momma's few fiance's n***** wife savage life who i'm gonna **** next
Beatles (bell bottoms) song lyrics:
Help, I need somebody,
Help, not just anybody,
Help, you know I need someone, help
Are we really trying to compare the two generations and the effects that these clothes have on the value of homes?

Is there some reason that rap is being isolated? What about rock? Heavy metal? Should I quote lyrics from either of those genres?
It really sounds to me like you've chosen the wrong community for yourself, based on this thread and the other about your difficulty communicating with your neighbors. For that, I'm really sorry.

Kids with buzz cuts frighten me more. Brings Tim McVey to mind....
See where I'm going with this? Stereotypes suck. Kids will be kids and some will naturally adapt fashions of the current culture. Go up to the kids and start a conversation, say hey or something. If all goes well, you are now familiar to them and the next time u hear them using fowel language politely let them know you find it offensive. It really does take a village.

I agree with this poster instead of complaining and whining about the way they are dressed respect that they are out of trouble doing something good like playing basketball and not out breaking in someone home. A good community watch is knowing the kids and the parents of the kids and know where they live. That one of the beautiful things of being in the Carolina's is knowing your neighbors no matter how far down the street they live.
I dont think there is any issue unless they are breaking a law.
You may look at it ol no home values while someone else might look at it this is a safe place for kids to go play basketball.

You know, I should have made this point earlier but it didn't occur to me.
The riff raff at the basketball court that was causing a problem (enough to involve the police)... well here's the thing...
They weren't all black people, not hardly.
I didn't even think of it racially. Black, white, hispanic, whatever... its just as racist when you try to make comments appear racist that werent originally meant to be that way. Either that or dont be so quick to jump to conclusions.

Don't waste your breathe these people have an agenda and will be the first ones to call the police when one of these saggers approach one of their little darlings.

I didn't even mention black people, where did you get that? I was simply commenting on this statement "I wish these people realized that they are lowering the value of their homes by walking around with their pants down around their ankles". First of all, I don't believe they had their pants down to their ankles and second, if you don't like it move. Can you tell me what era you grew up in, I am sure you had a style your parents did't like and did you lower their home price?

That's a far cry from some of Snoop Dogs lyrics. I know many parents buy this for their kids, as well as the gang clothing.

New2charlotte stated that "They weren't all black people, not hardly".
Nobody mentioned that, you are caught out! It's not your fault, you learned it from you parents.
