I like the fact that Huntersville is a short trip to downtown also.
I agree Berewick is a nice investment.

I agree with you about Huntersville. I like it here and I believe it is a good investment, too. As houses spring up, so will property values. I think the development is a positive thing and getting in before the city is complete is positive, too. We could have bought in other areas but they were the wrong side of the city and they had already experienced appreciation but we chose to buy here to hopefully try to get in on the ground floor of the appreciation. We've seen it in other areas and just hope it continues here like it did elsewhere. I believe when things being completed like our development, shopping outside our development, 485, the light rail, etc., will bring us the appreciation that we are hoping for. I do not believe Huntersville is a bad investment at all. I don't quite understand the point of the other's post above and I don't know anything about Berewick, other than I know of a very reputable buider that will be building in there. They had built in MacCauley.

I agree Huntersville should appreciate nicely. Millions are not being spent up at that lake for no reason. I also beleive Huntersville is still at the ground floor.

I feel bad for Berewick Resident, I really do. She purchased a home in what she thought was a nice neighborhood. People start hanging around the basketball court looking like they're up to no good (and come on people, you know that at least a few are up to no good) so she expresses concern. Heck, the police have already been down to the basketball court to address some illegal activity so it isn't like nothing is going on!
What does she get for her trouble? A bunch of insinuations that she is a racist. I'm sorry but wanting to protect your family's safety and the money invested in your home does not make someone a racist.

i think that as many of the original homeowners sell and move on (as prices go up and they realize they can make money), it will bring in better residents and get rid of the riff-raff. (sp?) I think it will end up being a pretty nice development, there are just some issues now because it is new and less expensive to get into, especially the kb section. They NEED to start that town center though, soon!!

Interesting
Very sad to hear such blatant racism. I'll steer clear of that neck of the woods.

Berewick is a very diverse community with many of the residents being from out of town. I know that my neighbor to the right is from PA, the one from the left from FL, across the street from NY and so on. It is pretty quiet and I haven't had any problems so far. The new school is being built and so is the town center. With new development coming to the area, I can only expect (I hope) that property values will go up......and so will my taxes, since we are being annex by the city this year.

Oh get off the racism soap box. Berewick is a veritable melting pot of darn near every race I've seen in Charlotte: Indian, black, white, Spanish, Asian, etc...I even think one of my former neighbors was an alien. What people are talking about here is what they see with their own eyes...which just so happens to be a predominately black group of people, some of whom choose to act like a thug with their attitude and actions. And if there has been reported illegal activity (fighting, drugs, whatever) right where that group hangs out, guess who is gonna get blamed for it?!?!
I didn't read any comments about "you know those [insert race here]...they always cause crime." THAT would be racist. The comments posted here are calling a spade a spade, no more, no less.
Defense like this is what facilitates unacceptable behavior and that general thug mentality to be accepted and allowed in neighborhoods. It does no good for anyone other than the thug...it makes people wary and can hurt property values. It needs to be weeded out and dealt with. And defending it under the "that's racist" shield is pitiful.
