Like here in NYC - there's Little Italy, China Town...is Charlotte or the surrounding neighborhoods like that?

Not at all really. There was no significant immigration here until the 1980s. So there are several Hispanic areas, a Vietnamese area in the Central/Shamrock area and some other pockets. The block of Tryon bw 5th and 6th Streets has 2 Irish bars with several Irish bartenders on work visas. I think the guy that owns it is Irish, and they have an Irish Festival in the summers, but the population has not been here long (nor do they stay long) so there is no Irish neighborhood like Woodlawn in the Bronx or Sunnyside Queens.
