Plan on relocating to Charlotte in the next year. I've heard that some parts of Charlotte have a gang problem. Can anyone let me specific areas, counties, etc. to steer clear from?

There is no one area to avoid - we aren't like LA for pete's sake!
Except Hidden Valley. Hell, I think the police avoid Hidden Valley!
Was just coming back to edit my comment to say, Just don't move to the Hidden Valley neighborhood. That is the one neighborhood in Charlotte with it's own home grown gang - though they've taken a real hit with the arrest and imprisonment of many of their members in the last few years.
By police estimates we have about 2000 real gang members in Charlotte and probably 1000 more punk teen gang wanna-bees.
