I don't get this....I really don't....

Look, Union County only saw an inch or 1 1/2 max from this storm. Yes, the residential areas were all a sheet of ice this morning, but I was out all day today and we had a rediculous amount of melting/drying today.

IF this was Charlotte or parts due north or west, yes I wouldn't complain about the kids having tomorrow off...you got more snow than we did thus it takes longer to melt. Also, will ALL roads be 100% clear? No, but cmon...worst case you do a delayed opening so that all the black ice that's left will melt....

I understand we all want to be safe, but sometimes people go overboard....

But elementary school buses run at 630AM...a 2 hour delay puts them at 830 before the road melts. Lots of backroads as well. A lot of Union County is still very rural.

Hmmn...what holiday are they going to take from the kids this time? Easter? 4th of July? Flag day?
LOL - I know it's currently Feb 19 which is a teacher workday - would have made sense for a teacher workday to be used last year too....<Man, can I hold a grudge or what?>
