I am a native and own two shovels . . . one I purchased in Boone in the 80s and brought back to my home and a plastic one which I purchased on sale at Lowes a few years ago . . . and use to shovel wood bark chip mulch! LOL!!!

You may not see anyone under 40 who is a native and owns a snow shovel, but for those of us who were alive in the 60s - an infamous winter with snow every single week, which hung around so long that we kids built primitive IGLOOS to play in - those folks have an entirely different memory bank and recall all the up to your thighs (or higher) snowfalls we have had here over the decades.

Of course, that is more true for counties closer to the I-40 corridor than for Charlotte itself.
