131 Main is a great choice if you are taking kids....and close. Their food is very good and their desserts....even better. Great bar too (oops, sorry...that's when I have out of town guests )

Thanks.
I've been to both. I liked the Oceanaire, the food and service were great!!! That being said, it was very expensive, but I don't mind paying a lot of $$ for good food and service. I won't go often, but will definately save it for special events. 131 IMHO is great, their menu is simple, but everything that I have tried has been great!!! I like their Prime Rib and my wife eats the Salmon. The "Main Salad" is great, and their Banana Cream Pie is one of the best I've tasted.

I'll second the emotion about Mickey & Mooch, all around great restaurant. Try the Bleu Cheese Slaw!!!!

Just had the worst service at 131 Main. Food was ok but could not believe how bad the service was. Owner appologized and said it never happens. Waitress tried to make up for the problems with free deserts and coffee.

That's a bummer...that's the location I was planning to visit.

i will go back. like i said, the food was ok but it was the service. i believe in giving a restaurant a second chance and if the owner said he would take care of the problem, then i will give him the benefit of the doubt.

We ate at the Blakeney 131 Main over the weekend and enjoyed it. I'll second the cornbread as a good starter. The wife really liked her crabcake entree. Also, we went over to the commons, hung out listening to the band, watching a TON of kids play and eating Coldstone. It was a good night.

No problems with service at all. I recommend it.

Go anyway. I've had great service and terrific food there - they must have been having a bad day when NJMD visited.

I love the fact that everything is fresh, nothing frozen and defrosted in that place. The roast beef is particularly awesome!
