Sounds like a tree fell and hit cars . . . ????

Very loud booming thunder here - so loud it actually shook the house a while ago.

ETA: I am on Carmel. Are you nearby?

I heard it too ... sounded like it was right outside the window. Seemed like time to turn off the computer ... at least for a while.

Not to worry. It was just a bunch of Republicans putting the clamp down on extended UE benes. Relax.

No that was China, Taiwan, Japan and others closing the door on future purchase of US debt, due to Dems spending like drunken sailors on leave, (no offense to sailors). "Sooner or later you run out of other peoples money". (Margaret Thatcher). If I spent money like the administration I would be bankrupt 10 times over and sent to debtors prison.

ROFL! So THAT is what we heard. All this time, I thought it was lightning hitting something.

My power surged and I had to reset my router. I heard sirens going off and assumed lightning had hit a building, as some of the sirens sounded like fire trucks. But I never heard anything about a fire or damage the next day, so have wondered what occurred.
