I have looked into Mooresville already but just recently thought about Huntersville too...

We are coming from WI - not planning on working in the city (Charlotte)
but do have a son that will be starting college this Sept - (not sure where yet - all depending on where we are living) and a daughter that will be in 5th grade.

Our price range for a house is $150-175,000....I would like newer if possible....
need to be arounds shops/grocery stores etc (I cant be way out in the country)

Thanks in advance..

Jodi

After doing a quick search on MLS there are about 38 homes in your range built from 2000 until new construction.

Neighborhoods are:

Heritage Green
Mill Creek
Glenridge
Crosswinds
Glenwyck
Gilead Village
Stonegate Farms
Stone Hollow
Cabarrus Crossing
Bratenly Place
Water Oak

I think that was all.

Good Luck!

As far as choosing between Mooresville & Huntersville (and potential spots in-between), it's really a toss-up IMHO. The only thing I think that would make me lean specifically towards Huntersville is that CATS (Charlotte Area Transit Service) services it.

Neither Huntersville or Mooresville has a true downtown area where people go to hangout and shop etc. There are more areas around town suitable for that such as Birkdale in Huntersville.

Crime is here but IMO if your scared of the crime in Huntersville or Mooresville you going ot be scared anywhere in the US.

Schools someone else will chime in I am sure....

Thanks again -
Not that I am scared of the crime rate -
just seemed like when I visited Mooresville in 2004 - I saw some shady characters.........
now with all these new subdivisions popping up - I was wondering if there were any changes???
and I had never been to Huntersville - other than to visit Gibbs race shop - so wasnt sure what the city itself was like to live/school/work in......

I just dont think I can be in an inner city - where people are getting shot daily.....

Where I am now....subburb of Milwaukee - generally safe - but I still make sure to lock my doors at night -
we've had our cars broken into - right in our driveway 2x in the 16yrs we've lived here.......usually alot of kids/punks doing the crimes here.....not any gang stuff - etc....

Thanks again!
Jodi

That's about the same in this area. Bored kids for the most part.

Sounds like you have a good idea of how the area is.

Good Luck

Both are actually nice towns. Seems to me taxes would be lower in Mooresville, though.

Heritage Green is really a cute place it's just over the border of Huntersville into Cornelius. Gandy builders. Charlotte agent is an expert he's the go to guy.
