Default Places you CAN still smoke inside?

Restaurants especially. I know there are some bars that you can. But what are specific restaurants that still have a smoking section? Also, what are some that have good outdoor seating where you can smoke?

Unless it is a private restaurant, none of them can have a smoking section.

Here is the state's website www.smokefreeNC.gov

Quote:
The Law: AN ACT TO PROHIBIT SMOKING IN CERTAIN PUBLIC PLACES AND CERTAIN PLACES OF EMPLOYMENT

North Carolina’s Smoke-Free Restaurants and Bars Law was passed by the N.C. General Assembly and signed by the Governor in May, 2009, with an effective date of January 2, 2010.

The law requires enclosed areas of almost all restaurants and bars to be smoke-free effective January 2, 2010. Smoking is also banned in enclosed areas of hotels, motels, and inns, if food and drink are prepared there.

Smoking is permitted in: twenty percent (20%) of guest rooms in lodging establishments; cigar bars that meet specific requirements; private clubs - country clubs or organizations with selected membership - which are operated by the membership, have non-profit status, and provide restricted food and lodging services; establishments that are exempt from the state's sanitation laws.

I know there is a hookah bar uptown. Not sure if there is an exception. They seem to openly advertise.

What about restraunts that let you smoke in outdoor seating?

Sadly, they took away the rights of business owners to have a smoking section inside their privately-owned restaurants.

I was at "Wild Wings" about a month ago and they had smoking section still available. I don't know if they changed it recently though...

Much like they "took away" the rights of a privately owned restaurant to have a whites only section.

I think it's smart to do. We did away with this in NY awhile ago. At first I felt the same way you did, I was a young social drinking-smoker at the time. But now I am so happy that they did away with it....second hand smoking kills too...what about the freedom of those who don't smoke, should they be exposed to second hand smoke just because of smokers "rights". What about non-smokers rights? You can smoke outside, no one stopped you from doing that....but you need to respect those in a pulic place that don't smoke, especially children....second hand smoke is a cause to asthma for young children...and they don't have a voice or have the maturity to know what is harming their health!
