Berewick community
I was just wondering if anyone here has looked at or lives in the Berewick community in Southwest Charlotte? My wife and I are beginning to look for houses and this community seems really nice. Does anyone have any information about it or can you suggest other communities to look at as well? Thanks for your help!

OK well this would be a second home for the time being, we would not make the full move probably for atleast six years. Both kids are in college in 7 year and 6 year programs including grad school. I am currently 46 and wife is 44. We would like to transition down to NC area over the next few years.

Being your children are grown I would look at the Ballantyne area of Charlotte. If your brave and willing to risk destruction check Willmington. Retired MOS from?

Actually I purcahsed a home in that community in March, it is still being built, I saw it on my visit, and I loved it. I took my sister down for the first time this past week and she purchased a house. Believe me, we looked at many, many, many communities and she also purchased in Berewick three blocks from me, so we will be neighbors. Also when I checked the crime stats it was rated a one for the zip code, which is low. So I like it Seems quite, and clean. We are from NY and FL. hoped that helped you

The area where you are speaking of (zip code 28278...which includes the soon to be Berewick community) sits the closest to my side of the world (Tega Cay,SC - Fort Mill). This is an area that has been off the radar map for builders up until a few years ago. Prior the homes were quitely tucked away close to the shoreline of Lake Wylie. Not counting all the new building that is going on here now but you will see everything from ranch brick homes with acreage up to multi-million dollar homes (if you have the time...check out the realtor site using 28278 as the zip code...where it lists more options input waterfront, etc.....there are some incredible homes in there). This area will look completely different in a couple of years....as I have already seen a big change in just the 2 1/2 years that I have lived around here.

You are exactly right about the builders.. and so far I love the area and I have only been there twice since I purchased my home. I will check out the realtor sites with that zip code. Thanks
