I am looking to buy a used Acura MDX (because it has 7 seats!!)

I have been looking on craigslist, other websites.. browsing dealer sites etc etc.. But I dont seem to find the right fit of price v/s miles

Any suggestion on dealers local and tips for bargaining...
Also any niche websites for finding good deals?

Maybe you try looking at a non-luxury brand if price is an issue.

Auto Trader would be where I start. And you might have to drive a bit to get what you really want at the price you want to pay. Expand your search radius.

Default 7 seater SUV

I selected acura mdx, since it has 7 seater/3rd seating option..

I am not sure how comfortable.. I will visit a dealer to see it this weekend

But if you folks have other 7 seater SUV, please suggest..
I am ready to go 50 to 60 miles to get a car!!

We leased a 2006 MDX for 3 years and turned it in. It was a nice vehicle but the 3rd seat was rarely used. It is small and a bit claustrophobic back there because there is no window to open and you can't get out unless the rear seat in front of you is pushed forward. Requires premium gas and gets lousy mileage. 4wd was useful up north in snow but I wouldn't take it off road. I don't like the redesign and new styling for more recent model years. I had a bad experience at lease end turning the vehicle in, but that is not really relevant to your purchase. I had no interest in paying the residual value for the vehicle at lease end. We bought a new Honda CRV which is much smaller but surprisingly similar in many ways to the MDX.

My sister has an MDX and it is fantastic if you are the driver. I often sit in the 2nd row and it is not very comfortable and the third row is torture. There are some good 7 seat options with 0% financing that may make new cheaper than used. I really love the Mazda CX9. I highly suggest not only driving the vehicle but sitting in the back for the test drive.

Do your research. Some models of this vehicle have had some pretty bad issues with the transmission. Honda hasn't exactly been that accommodating about it either. Honda has a unique design for its automatics which they did in order to avoid having to pay for the use of a number of established patents. Unfortunately, they have had some bad issues with the ones that have gone into larger vehicles. The MDX is one of these vehicles. Not all are bad so make sure you look up which ones before you buy.
