Also, I just saw a neat article on gardening in the front yard, something that is becoming more and more acceptable as we all struggle with our food bills (and as folks get more conscious about sustainable living).

My mom says that chickens at homes used to be quite common in Charlotte in the 40s and 50s. People, at that time, considered store bought eggs to be inferior.
