Ok, here's the deal....my community has a set of soccer goals that has been sitting in an area that is basically a retention pond but doubles as a place to walk dogs and brings around people that don't live in the neighborhood to play soccer.

We have been hearing from residents and the HOA Board is thinking about getting rid of the goals. I was informed today that the goals are pretty expensive and we may want to think twice about paying someone to come and dump them.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do with these goals? Maybe a club or church would want them and would be willing to come and get them?

Depends if they are rusted or in good condition. Sell them on Craigslist if they are okay looking.

Or you could post them on Freecycle.

Perhaps you could contact the One 7 organisation which has a soccer team. They are teamed up with Charlotte United Soccer Club (although it says CSA on their website) and they are helping some of the youth of charlotte to get off the streets and out of gangs. It is an awesome group and this is all that some of these kids have. They may be delighted to come and get them and take them to a field where they play. The link is

One7 Ministries

We came across this great group at a local soccer tournament and they all arrived early in the morning to play different games throughout the day. The bus was to come back that evening to take them home. None of them had enough money to buy sandwiches to last the day so some of the parents from opposing teams collected money and bought them sandwiches. Some of the kids only ate half and put the rest away so that mom, or little brother or little sister at home could have the rest. They were also sharing soccer cleats and as someone would come off they would pass their shoes onto the next person that needed them. It was eye opening and I think they may appreciate the goals.
