I thought you meant LBFM's at first and I was fired up. US Navy guys will know what those are.

Why is it you highlight gay stuff when you can spin it positively, but take great umbrage when gay stuff is presented otherwise by other folks.

I don't have a dog in the fight, but it comes off as HYPER-hypercritical.

When will you learn, you can't fit in if you have a need to stand out!

If you spin this as a bash, then you have decimated your integrity and credibility. It is just a comment about the irrational needs of many "groups" to want it both ways. Let us strive to speak and act as one.

I have some friends who live over there off of Idlewild. Those ladies may or may not be glad to hear it. Actually , I think one would , the other wouldn't really care. When I lived in 28205 , Latinos were just beginning to arrive. Irregardless of orientation , someone needs to rejuvenate the Eastside.

Is Idlewild and Independence considered East Charlotte? If so, more LGBT people should move there. They probably would be better behaved than the bunch of a**holes that live there now. Carrying their kid across the middle of the street in rush hour traffic, whipping pine cones at passing cars, riding their mopeds down the sidewalk, etc.

Interesting... But you're talking about a pocket. Most of my gay friends wouldn't be caught dead living in East Charlotte.

East Charlotte includes Plaza Midwood as stated in the article and I know plenty that live there

East Charlotte is probably the most diverse area of Charlotte

As long as they take good care of their property and are good citizens, I don't care where they live.

We do have folks come on the forum and ask - where is the most gay-friendly area? I think it is good to know where to suggest as a possibility.

I also found a great website that I am going to mention to anyone who asks about the gay and/or lesbian community here. It looks like this is a really involved group that is striving to create friendships and create a warm atmosphere not only with LBGT community but with the community as a whole.
