OMG our garbage company won't accept a few small bags of clay dirt & neither will Foxhole dump. What to do?? Does anybody know if there's an easy way to handle this?

Couldn't you just put a little in your trash each week until it's gone?

I like you, you're clever & sneaky. I was thinking the same thing. I just was hoping I could just get rid of it all at once instead of having to remember each week.

There's that trick from the movie The Great Escape where the prisoners disposed of the dirt from their escape tunnel by walking around with it in their pockets and letting it drop out the bottom of their pants.

Beat me to it!!!

Have you tried calling 311? I would have thought it would be considered yard waste but it doesn't show up as an accepted item at any of the YW facilities. Maybe try to give it to a landscaping guy? I have no legal ideas.

Do you live in an established neighborhood, or are they still building? If they are still building, you could go put it on an empty lot. I don't think a few bags of dirt would matter much on a lot. (of course, take it out of the bags) If you have woods nearby you could spread it out in the woods too.

Can I ask what the dirt is from? Was there a reason why you couldn't spread it out on your lawn and water it in?

Y'all have been great. I saw that movie! Too funny. There's no 311 in Union Cty, so you got me thinking & I called the Co-operative Extension. He said I should either offer it to my neighbors or spread it out. It's just dirt from digging holes for planting some fruit trees. I'm not going to spread it out, b/c I'm too lazy, plus it would be bright red & take forever to mix in (i did that last year). Plus there's clumps of grass from the top layer & the whole thing would just be a mess. I'd rather just dump it. No woods in my yard either. Kinda stinks that I want to do the right thing but can't.

Chess, just go to a nearby neighborhood and dump it on an empty lot. Just remember to take it out of the bag first. I honestly don't see anything wrong with that!
