husband and I moved from NJ/NY area to northeast part of TN 2 years ago, but looking to move (again) to Charlotte (long story)

don't know Charlotte area except for airport (been there several times); can't afford city living or buy a house, so plan on renting...want to be close enough to city for job-hunting, activities and attractions, but long as living in area that might have some of that would be ok -- any suggestions? a lot to ask, but could use the help

HI, you could check apartmentratings.com to find out about the different apartments in the area and different people's view on the apartment. also rent.com will give you a good list of whats out there.

another good thing to do is find a prospective apt or rental property address and check it out at walkscore.com...will tell you whats nearby.

just a few tips (before you get the 6-7 people telling you not to move to CLT without a job)

You're in East TN now? Why don't you drive down & scout the area west of Charlotte? You might want to check the Triad as well.
