One more tip to get in cheaper: go after 5pm. The lines are not long, it's cooler, and it's cheaper. That's what we used to do in college--

Food is expensive but if you have season tix you can eat lunch before going or grab breakfast and hit the park for a half day or so or eat dinner and go after 5...so many options..it isn't like you are planning on spending the whole day there and even if you do you can also pack a lunch in the cooler, leave it in the car and then go eat! bring a backpack with bottled water in it and fill them up if you need to...bottled water is just some other's city tap water..usually detroit etc!

Parking is $10 per day or $35 for a season parking pass.

They were selling season passes for $55 or $60 (including parking) last fall. So plan on getting your pass for next year this fall to save $$.

Are there changes in the park since the ownership changed?

Just lower prices so far for season passes. Nothing else noticeable.

Carowinds is alot of fun. If you plan on going more than once buy a seasons pass. If you just want to check it out you can get discount tickets at Harris Teeter. 30-40 minutes for Matthews is probably right. Easy ride though

Carowinds has made a big boost in their season ticket prices. A regular season pass for 2008 is $64.95, and that doesn't include parking. Parking is another $30. ($94.95 total) You can get a VIP pass with parking for $89.95. ($74.95 + $15)

They used to have really good deals if you got next year's season pass the previous fall. If they increase like they have in the past, I'm afraid to think what the season ticket price will be next spring.

I don't remember what I spent last year, but in fall 2005 I bought 2006 Platunum season passes with parking for $49.99. (Last year would have been $55 or $60.)

It was good to be able to include parking with all the kids' passes in case they went with friends that didn't have a parking pass. Maybe this year I won't get parking for everybody.

This is still a good deal over the daily admission if you plan to go more than once or twice during the season, but it certainly is quite a jump!
